The 1st International boys and young men choirs’ festival "Lauda anima"
The Republic of Belarus
May 1-4, 2019
Dear friends!
The Boys' Choir Director Association, the Belorussian Choral Director Association under the public association “Belarusian union of musicians” are pleased to invite you to the1st International boys and young men choirs’ festival "Lauda anima", which will take place in Minsk and other towns and cities of Belarus on May1-4, 2019.
The international festival movement of the boys and young men choirs in Belarus dates back to 2006, when the Boys' Choir Director Association (BCDA), was organized within the structure of “Belarusian union of musicians”. The main purpose of the festivals is to unite the efforts of all people concerned - from young singers to leaders and choir masters – for the development of boys and male singing in the country.
So over the past decade, a number of large-scale festival events has been held.2006 - International Choral Music Festival with choirs from Lithuania and Belgium; 2007 - international festivals "The Nightingale Gathers Friends" and "We are United by the Choir"; 2008 - the International Boys Choirs Festival "The Voices of Friends", which brought together more than 400 singers from Belarus, Norway and Lithuania. The bright choral events include the Open Republic festivals of boys and young men choirs with the participation of choirs from Russia and Estonia, which took place in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017.
As we rely on the traditions and experience of past choral events of this kind, we have the joy to invite boys’, young men’s and male choirs to our upcoming choral event. We are sure that the festival of 2019 will leave the most vivid and unforgettable impressions on everyone.
The festival will begin with the opening ceremony on May 1, 2019 in the Upper Town concert hall. Its program will include concerts of participants in various cities of Belarus, workshops and artists’ meetings, and it will end on May 4 with a gala concert in the Great Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic.
Choirs from Switzerland, Russia, Greece, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Belarus are expected to participate there.
